ngpsd
ngpsd is a replacement daemon for gpsd, and will feature more functionnality, among those, there will be a dbus interface to send GPS information to various processes in the system
ngpsd should work with kismet.

after seeing how far ESR has taken gpsd, ngpsd isn't of any use anymore. It was an ad-hoc solution as gpsd had fallen in the big pile of rusty code, but the phoenix has risen from the ashes here.
